Terms of Use

Last updated October 5, 2026

1. Agreement

These Terms of Use ("Terms") are an agreement between you and The Backyard Pantry, LLC, doing business as BP Labs ("we", "us", "our"), for the PassportMap app on iPhone, iPad and Android ("the App") and this website. By downloading or using the App, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the App.

2. What PassportMap is

PassportMap is an informational tool. It helps you find attractions that take part in reciprocal admission networks, see how each network's published rules may apply to the memberships you hold, keep photos of your own membership cards, and plan trips.

The networks it currently covers are:

  • North American Reciprocal Museum Association (NARM)
  • Reciprocal Organization of Associated Museums (ROAM)
  • Time Travelers
  • American Horticultural Society (AHS) Garden Network
  • Association of Science and Technology Centers (ASTC) Travel Passport Program
  • Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA) Reciprocal Admissions Program

3. Not affiliated, and no guarantee of admission

PassportMap is independent. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by any of those networks, the organizations that run them, or any attraction.

Admission and benefits are decided only by each network and each attraction, under rules they can change at any time. Examples include ASTC's 90-mile rule, the distance limits some NARM and ROAM members set, AZA's reciprocity levels, and each attraction's own policies.

The App's listings, benefit descriptions, distances and routes are provided for convenience and may be incomplete, out of date or wrong. Always confirm with the attraction before you travel. A card photo stored in the App is for your own reference and does not admit you by itself. An attraction may ask to see your physical card and identification.

4. On the road

Don't let the App distract you while driving. Set up your trip before you leave, and obey road and traffic laws. Routes, distances and drive times are estimates, and road conditions, closures and opening hours can differ from what the App shows.

5. Your license to use the App

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the App on devices you own or control, for your own non-commercial use, under these Terms and the terms of the store you got it from. Organizations with a site license may also use it as described in section 7.

6. Pro subscriptions

PassportMap is free to download. Pro is an optional upgrade sold as an auto-renewing subscription, monthly or yearly, which may include a free trial.

  • Pro is bought through the Apple App Store or Google Play and charged to that account when you confirm the purchase.
  • A subscription renews automatically for the same period, at the then-current price, unless you cancel it before it renews. On the App Store, cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period; your account is charged for renewal within the 24 hours before that period ends.
  • If a free trial is offered, any unused part of it ends when you buy a subscription.
  • Manage or cancel your subscription in your store account: on iPhone or iPad, in Settings, your name, Subscriptions; on Android, in Google Play, Payments & subscriptions, Subscriptions. Deleting the App does not cancel a subscription.
  • Refunds are handled by Apple or Google under their own policies. We can't issue refunds ourselves.
  • Because PassportMap has no accounts, Pro works on the devices signed in to the store account that bought it. A subscription bought on the App Store does not unlock Pro on Android, and the other way round.
  • If Pro ends, you keep what you made while you had it. Your saved trips, card photos and visits stay viewable, and the Pro features lock until you subscribe again.

7. Site licenses

Museums and other organizations can buy PassportMap with Pro included for their own devices, per device and as a one-time purchase, through Apple Business Manager. A site-licensed copy has no purchases or ads and keeps everything on the device, and the organization may let its visitors use it on its premises. Where a separate written agreement with an organization differs from these Terms, that agreement applies.

8. Advertising

The free version shows ads served by third parties. Our Privacy Policy explains how advertising information is handled. Pro removes ads. We aren't responsible for the content of ads or the sites they lead to.

9. Maps and other services

Maps in the App are provided by Google. By using them, you agree to the Google Maps/Google Earth Additional Terms of Service and acknowledge the Google Privacy Policy. Directions, phone calls, email and websites open other apps and sites, which have their own terms.

10. Acceptable use

Don't misuse the App. That includes trying to reverse engineer, copy, scrape, resell or interfere with it, and using it to break any law or any network's or attraction's rules. You're responsible for the card photos you store, and you confirm you have the right to use them.

11. Ownership

The App, its design and its compilation of attraction information belong to us and are protected by law. Network and attraction names, and any logos shown in the App, belong to their owners and are used only to identify them.

12. Disclaimers

The App is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy and non-infringement. We don't promise that the App will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that any attraction will admit you.

13. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, BP Labs will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any denied admission, travel costs, lost time or other losses arising from your use of or reliance on the App. Our total liability for any claim relating to the App will not exceed the amount you paid for the App in the 12 months before the claim arose. Some places don't allow these limits, so they may not all apply to you.

14. Apple

If you got the App from the App Store, these terms also apply:

  • These Terms are between you and BP Labs only, not Apple, and we, not Apple, are responsible for the App and its content.
  • Apple has no obligation to provide any maintenance or support for the App.
  • If the App fails to meet any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple and Apple will refund the purchase price, if any. To the extent the law allows, Apple has no other warranty obligation for the App.
  • We, not Apple, are responsible for addressing any claims about the App, including product liability claims, claims that it fails to meet a legal or regulatory requirement, consumer protection claims, and claims that it infringes someone else's intellectual property.
  • You confirm that you are not in a country subject to a U.S. Government embargo or designated as a "terrorist supporting" country, and are not on any U.S. Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
  • Your use of the App must also comply with the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions. Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement applies in addition to these Terms.
  • Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them against you.

15. Google Play

If you got the App from Google Play, the Google Play Terms of Service also apply. Google is not a party to these Terms and is not responsible for the App.

16. Changes

We may update these Terms or the App from time to time. We'll post the new Terms here and update the date at the top. Using the App after a change takes effect means you accept the updated Terms.

17. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Missouri, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules.
